Anatomy and Palpation, Part 1: Abdomen

This course explores human anatomy in-depth and how to palpate tissues respectably and perceive clinically relevant information. We will study living anatomy based on body regions as well as on different tissues. First, we will explore abdominal cavity and its content, which includes organs, muscles, fascia, membrane, ligaments, attachment system, lymphatics, and neuro-vasculature.

Learning objective

Students will be able to:

1.     Develop soft and relaxed hands when touching the body.

2.     Locate liver, gall bladder, stomach, duodenum, jejunoileum, cecum, ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon and sigmoid colon, pancreas, spleen and kidneys.

3.     Know and respect the delicacy of deep-seated organs.

4.     Feel the motility of organs

5.     Feel through the layers of skin, fascia, muscles, transversalis, and peritoneum

6.     Visualize structures in 3 dimensions.

7.     Know the major vasculature surrounding organs.

8.     Know the lymph vessels and nodes in the abdominal cavity

9.     Locate and feel nerve plexuses.

10.     Know the name of ligaments that attach organs to the surrounding structure.

Cancellation and refund policy

If you cancel more than 30 days before the class, you will receive a 100% refund minus a $30 administration fee.

If you cancel within 10-30 days before the class, you will receive a 50% refund of the class fee.

If you cancel with fewer than 15 days before the class, NO REFUND will be given.

Wisdom Garden Academy reserves the right to cancel a scheduled class due to low enrollment or other extenuating circumstances. In case we need to cancel an event, a full amount will be refunded to those already registered.
